**Note 2010 changes**
We will be using a barcode system this year. Please note that non-barcoded items will NOT be accepted. You will see a few other changes for this year. Look for up-to-date procedures below.
Please Remember:
-
-This is not an avenue to run a business or a yard sale, but a curriculum fair.
-
- You must be registered for the SEARCH fair in order to sell items.
-
- Please be aware of our limited space and sell accordingly
Set-Up and Tear-Down Times:
-You are responsible for setting-up an tearing-down your items. There is a lot of help around, but cannot be guaranteed.
-
-Set up times are:
-
-Thursday, June 17, 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
-
-Friday, June 18, 8:00 am- 9:00 am and anytime after 1:00 pm.
-
- Saturday, June 19th, anytime
Tear-Down:
-All items must be picked up and removed by 5:00pm on Saturday, June 19th
- If your items are not picked up, we will assume that they are abandoned and your proceeds will belong to SEARCH. (In other words, you will not receive your money for the abandoned books if you do not come and pick up your unsold items.)
Fee Schedule:
If your sales are:
-
‣$500.00 or less = 15% fee
-
‣ $500.00 - $1,000.00 = 20% fee
-
‣$1,000.00 or more = 30% fee
The fees collected will go toward the furthering work of SEARCH, a portion going toward the Drew Scholarship Fund. Used Books has been able to bless many families with scholarships!
Payment:
You will receive a check for your sold items (less the consignment fee), approximately 4 weeks after the sale.
Labeling Procedures:
-
‣ Click on the link (below) to Register and get Barcode Labels for your items. Non barcoded labels will NOT be accepted. We will be using My Consignment Manager in order to produce labels. The system is easy to use and should help the sale tremendously in speed and with fewer errors. These tags are good from one year to another.
-
‣ Sets: Each item must have a label. The top book will have the priced label on the outside, while all other items in the set will have a $0.00 priced tag on the inside. This can be done with the barcoding program. Sets must be rubberbanded together. Rubberband in both directions in order to keep sets from coming apart.
-
‣ Tape all labels on the INSIDE cover of ALL books (except sets-- see above explanation). Labels easily fall off when placed on the outside of a book. Items other then books may be tagged on the outside.
-
‣Tape ONLY on TWO ends of the labels (right and left sides). DO NOT TAPE ALL FOUR SIDES! Do NOT cover the barcode with tape! We will not be able to scan them. Too much tape makes it hard to remove the labels (which slow down our check out lines) and too little tape allows labels to fall off.

‣If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to help at used books, please email Bonnie Childs at usedbooks@searchofpa.org
